Seismic Design of Piers and Wharves: A Review of Canadian Practice

The publication of ASCE 61-14 “Seismic Design of Piers and Wharves” marked the beginning of standardized seismic design practice of near-shore marine structures in the United States. Since an equivalent design standard does not exist in Canada, marine structural practitioners have sought to incorporate applicable sections of the American standard into Canadian practice.
